Kiddie Karrasel Academy receives the "spotlight" in the LeClaire Chamber Newsletter.
Washington D.C. Angie Mapes, Owner, Director and founder of Kiddie Karrasel Academy, recently returned home from Washington D.C. where she attended the National Association for the Education of Young Children, (NAEYC) QRIS meeting, and the NAEYC public policy forum, thanks to the IowaAEYC. Representing IowaAEYC as public policy chair, Angie spent February 11 on Capitol Hill discussing important early child care and education issues with Senator Tom Harkin and Representative Bruce Braley that directly impact the federal and state budget. Working on issues that directly impact the accessibility and affordability of QUALITY early care and education at a Federal, State and local level has been a strong passion of Angie's for the past several years. She is voluntarily very active both locally and statewide on early care and education committees and active in several other important community organizations as well. As Kiddie Karrasel Academy celebrates it's 21st anniversary in August of 2009, Angie notes that her biggest challenge and yet her biggest accomplishment has been her work and dedication to providing and advocating QUALITY early childhood education for parents, children and teachers.
